DIGNIFIED SEA BURIAL
Your information, handled with care.
This notice explains how the information you provide through our ceremony request form is used. Updated October 15, 2026.
What you share with us
The form asks for your name, email address, phone number, contact preference, ceremony preference, preferred date and departure area. You may also share an approximate guest count and personal wishes. Please do not include payment details, medical records, or sensitive documents.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to your request, coordinate your selected area and ceremony arrangements, and prepare a quote. When a partner vessel is needed, relevant arrangement details may be shared with that captain or operator to coordinate your requested service. Submitting a request does not reserve a boat or date.
Funeral-home arrangement links
When you use an individual funeral-home link, we record the referring home and whether the main contact is a family member or funeral director. A director should submit information only with the family’s permission. We reply to the main contact entered on the form. A link identifies the referral; it does not give the funeral home access to saved requests, family records or other funeral homes.
Where your request goes
Your request is stored in the website’s database and is available in Capt. Chris’s restricted request inbox. Website hosting and storage are provided through Sites and Cloudflare. Access to the captain’s inbox requires sign-in. To deliver a notification to dignifiedseaburial@gmail.com, your submitted contact and ceremony details are also processed by FormSubmit and Google Gmail. Your email address is used as the reply address so Capt. Chris can respond directly to you. FormSubmit states that it retains form submissions for 30 days; copies in our website inbox and email may be retained separately. See FormSubmit’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy. You can save a copy of your request receipt after submitting.
Website operation
The site uses essential hosting and sign-in features. To reduce abusive submissions, it stores a temporary hashed connection identifier and a submission count. The website does not include advertising trackers or request credit-card information.
Questions or changes
To correct your request, ask about the information held about you, or request its removal, contact dignifiedseaburial@gmail.com or call 908-783-1213. Include your request reference if you have one. We will discuss any records that need to be retained for completed arrangements.
Contacting us by email or phone
You can contact us directly instead of using the form. Your email or telephone provider will handle those communications under its own terms.
